It is a temporary work visa that provides a pathway that may lead to permanent residency.
SKILLS Requirement:
▸ Be nominated to work in an occupation listed under
Major Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6 of the ANZSCO occupations
▸ Have a salary that meets the Income Threshold
(currently AUD 73,150 for Core Skills occupations and AUD 135,000 for Specialist
Skills occupations)
▸ Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience in your nominated
occupation or a related field;
▸ Obtain a relevant skills assessment, if required for your occupation;
▸ Work exclusively for your sponsor or an associated entity, unless exempted;
▸ Meet the minimum English language requirements unless exempted;
▸ No age limit to apply for this visa; however, the applicant must be under age of
45 to qualify for Permanent Residency through the 186 Visa temporary
transitional pathway after 2 years of work on this visa.

Specialist Skills Requirement:

IELTS overall 5.0, with at least 5.0 in each test component
PTE overall of at least 36, with at least 36 in each test component

The employer sponsor must:
- Be a registered Australian business entity with an
ABN
- Hold an approved and valid Standard Business
Sponsorship (SBS)
- Run a legally established and active business
- Have no previous adverse history on employing
workers
